Hidden useful features in Android Q

Its been more than two week since the release of Android Q beta has been rolled out. I was playing with the new beta on my phone and could list out some awesome but useful features of Android Q. Lets start digging it together.

Inbuilt support for screen recording!!

Based on the beta, it looks like Android Q has added this most useful feature, which will make all other screen grabbing apps to a forever memory. Now you can enable it from the feature_flags option of the developer options menu. The name of the flag to enable will be settings_screenrecord_long_press So you can easily start capturing the screen by long pressing the screenshot menu of the power button menu.

Wi-Fi password sharing

From  Android Q onwards, You can easily share your Wi-Fi password by just scanning the QR code. The system will generate unique QR code for each Wi-Fi point in your device. You can access it through Settings- -> Network & Internet -> Wi-Fi -> Click on the connection name -> Share. A screenshot is given below.

Undo shortcut removal

Life doesn’t have retakes! We all know that. Even android doesn’t have a undo option once you remove your shortcut from home screen. Many users got complained about this. Material design has a better recommendation about removing items from a list. As a result, they just added an undo option for shortcut removal event. Here is a screenshot.

Window resizing is possible

You can now resize app window just like in the desktop application. It can be enabled from developer options by clicking on the free form windows option. Currently it is not indented for mobile devices. Android Q supports desktop mode for tablets and PCs in which the window sizing feature is completely supported for now.
